Suzanne Renes

Suzanne Renes is a Senior Patent Attorney at IFORI. She has over seven years of experience in the patent field and has been a qualified Dutch and European patent attorney as well as UPC representative since 2021.

After completing her BSc in Liberal Arts and Sciences (Cum Laude, 2015) with a focus on biomedical sciences, she obtained an MSc in Pharmaceutical Formulation and Entrepreneurship from University College London (2016). In 2017, she lived and worked in Melbourne, Australia, for six months to gain work experience in an international setting.

In 2018, Suzanne joined the pharmaceutical team at NLO in the Netherlands as a trainee patent attorney. At the end of 2021, she moved to Sanofi in Belgium as Patent Counsel Biologics. She specializes in IP matters related to life sciences and chemistry, with particular expertise in immunotherapy.

Besides her in-depth knowledge of patent matters, she has a special affinity for Japan. With her extensive knowledge of Japanese culture and her proficiency in the Japanese language, she serves as the point of contact for IFORI’s Japanese clients in her role as Nippon Desk Team Lead. Additionally, she is a member of the Belgium-Japan Association & Chamber of Commerce.

Finally, Suzanne will be active in the IFORI Academy as a trainer on topics surrounding IP in the Life Sciences as well as sharing her experiences on doing business with Japan.
