Pauline Helman

Pauline holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law from the University of Namur and a Master’s degree in Law from UCLouvain, obtained in 2014. She further specialised in intellectual property by completing an Advanced Master’s degree in Intellectual Property and ICT Law at KU Leuven in 2016.

With more than ten years of experience as a legal counsel, Pauline has developed extensive expertise in intellectual property law, with a particular focus on trademark and design law.

She advises companies on the definition, development and implementation of their IP protection strategies across the Benelux, the European Union and internationally. Her practice includes IP audits and portfolio structuring, trademark clearance searches and risk assessments, filing and territorial expansion strategies, the protection of trademarks, logos, designs and other distinctive signs, as well as the management, optimisation and rationalisation of trademark and design portfolios.

Pauline also assists clients in examination, opposition, invalidity and revocation proceedings, coexistence negotiations and other amicable settlements, as well as in disputes involving earlier rights. She regularly advises businesses on enforcement and brand protection strategies, international expansion, coordination with foreign associates and, more broadly, on intellectual property issues arising from the launch, development, repositioning or evolution of their activities.

Pauline successfully completed the two-year professional training programme organised by the Benelux Foundation for Professional Education of Trademark and Design Attorneys (BBMM/FBMM) and passed the corresponding professional examination.

At IFORI, Pauline works as a Trademark & Design Attorney. She adopts a strategic and pragmatic approach closely aligned with her clients’ commercial objectives, helping them protect, develop and maximise the value of their intellectual property assets.
